Itraconazole 100 mg/tablet
INSTRUCTIONS:
In dogs and cats, for oral administration only.
DESCRIPTION:
In dogs and cats, administer orally, with or immediately after meals (improves its bioavailability).
DOGS:
For the treatment of dermatitis caused by Malassezia spp:
– CONTINUOUS THERAPY: 5 mg/kg, orally, every 24 hours. The duration of treatment is usually 21 days.
– PULSE THERAPY: 5 mg/kg, orally, every 24 hours for 2 consecutive days. The duration of treatment is usually at least 3 weeks.
It is suggested to continue treatment for up to 2 weeks after clinical cure.
For the treatment of dermatophytosis:
– DAILY DOSAGE: 5 mg/kg orally every 24 hours, alternating
one week of treatment followed by one week of rest, for 5 weeks.
– COMBINED CONTINUOUS/PULSE THERAPY: 5-10 mg/kg, orally, every 24 hours for 28 days and then it is suggested to administer on an alternate-week regimen (1 week off and 1 week of treatment).
– CYCLIC THERAPY: 5-10 mg/kg orally every 24 hours for 15 days. It is suggested to perform a fungal culture 10-15 days after treatment.
For the treatment of cryptococcosis: 5-10 mg/kg, orally, every 12 to 24 hours, for periods that vary depending on the severity of the case and the patient's response.
For the treatment of nasal aspergillosis : 5 mg/kg, orally, every 12 hours, for at least 3 months. The duration of therapy depends on the location and severity of the infection.
For the treatment of sporotrichosis: 10 mg/kg, orally, every 24 hours. The duration of treatment is at least 2 months (average 11 months).
For the treatment of histoplasmosis: 10 mg/kg orally every 24 hours. The duration of therapy depends on the location and severity of the infection. For the treatment of coccidioidomycosis: 5–10 mg/kg orally every 12–24 hours. The duration of treatment depends on the location and severity of the infection.
CATS:
For the treatment of dermatitis caused by Malassezia spp : 5 mg/kg, orally, every 24 hours for 7 consecutive days. Rest for 7 days.

For the treatment of histoplasmosis: 5-10 mg/kg, orally, every 12 hours, for 2 to 4 months.
For the treatment of cryptococcosis: 10-20 mg/kg orally every 24 hours for periods that vary depending on the severity of the case and the patient's response, ranging from 6 to 18 months. A total dose of 50 mg can also be used in cats weighing less than 3.5 kg and 100 mg in cats weighing more than 3.5 kg.
For the treatment of blastomycosis: 50-100 mg/cat, orally, every 24 hours, for 9 to 24 months.
