Injectable Solution

COMPOSITION :

Each ml contains Sodium pentobarbital 64.8 mg/ml

INDICATIONS :

Indicated in Dogs and Cats as a general anesthetic in short surgical procedures.

DOSAGE :
Intravenous injection of 2 ml of Penthal, for every 5 kg of weight, equivalent in active ingredient to 25mg/kg.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE :

Administer half of the total calculated dose by moderately rapid intravenous injection. Pause for 1 minute to assess the risk of adverse reactions in susceptible animals. If the patient remains stable, continue administering the remaining dose slowly until surgical anesthesia is achieved (loss of palpebral and cutaneous reflexes). The maintenance protocol for general anesthesia with Penthal will depend on the veterinarian's judgment and the patient's condition.

PRECAUTIONS :

Do not use in newborn kittens or pregnant females as it causes respiratory depression. Use with caution in patients with renal or hepatic dysfunction. Extravasation may cause local irritation and necrosis.
